ROMMEL GIL

PASTOR

Pastor Rommel Gil is the founding and current pastor of Calvary Chapel of the Redwoods.  Pastor Rommel grew up in East Los Angeles and La Mirada, California during the turbulent 1960's and 70's and was involved in the drug culture of the day. Frustrated with the culture, he wanted to see social change and sought to do what he could to bring it about.  He left Southern California for the San Francisco Bay area.  It was there that Rommel received Christ as His savior while attending San Jose' State University as a Pre-Law major.  He moved to Crescent City, California in 1988 and met with a small group of believers at the home of Art and Jan Giovinetti in Harbor, Oregon.   The Lord has since provided a church home for the local body of believers in Smith River, California.   Pastor Rommel currently resides in Smith River, California with his wife Barbara. He has a son Rommel Anthony, a daughter Jennifer and three grandchildren Stella, Gabriella and Zion.

STUART NICHOLS

ELDER

Stuart serves as an Elder at the Fellowship.  He likes to evangelize and desires that new believers in Christ be rooted and grounded in the faith. Stuart is a local realtor and is the Director of C.A.N. (Community Assistance Network) which feeds the poor and shares the Lord to the community of Del Norte County.
